IHerb Haul (**discount code**)

I have recently started watching Pretty Little Liars and it has taken over my life, hence the lack of blog posts lately! So as a gift from me to you for being so lazy ima show you my purchases I recently made on iHerb (I say recently, I mean three weeks ago.) and there may be a cheeky wee discount code at the end as well!

The first thing I bought were the new Real Techniques duo fiber brushes. These were $19.99 which in British pounds is only £12.00 (current exchange rate! It may change slighty.) I had been eyeing up these brushes for quite a while, and being a huge Real Techniques fan I knew they'd be worth the 3 week wait, and being slightly cheaper than normal was a little bonus!

I then noticed that they sold ELF products, a brand I've always been interested in but never actually bought anything so when I saw the powder brush was only $2.99 (£1.92) I decided to pick it up to try. Although it says powder brush I actually use this as more of a buffing brush and I think it may have replaced my Real Techniques buffing brush (shock horror!). For the price I paid for this I'm actually really impressed, the quality of the brush is not what you'd expect for so little money!

I then picked up the Ecotools deluxe fan brush as I have been wanting a really good fan brush forever!! This did not disappoint, at $5.82 (£3.75) I am so glad I picked this up, I had been using a super cheap brush that wasn't soft and didn't pick up any product at all. Once I used the Ecotools brush I knew there was no going back, it is amazing for highlighting, it is super soft and looks pretty neat on my dressing table too (am I the only one who uses here brushes like decorations? Who needs flowers eh?!)

Last but not least my order could not be completed without buying something I couldn't get in the UK. So the obvious choice was a mascara I've heard everyone and their postman rave about, the Physicians Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara. If there ever was a product that could draw you in on packaging alone, this is it. Look at it, just look at it!!
And unfortunately the packaging is all it really has going for it. As much as the brush is amazing and the lashes look fuller and longer it just doesn't last, it's not waterproof and it just seems to flake off. It's not a complete write off but I will have to use this below a waterproof mascara which is a bit of a waste of money. At least it's pretty!!

I also got a few little freebies, when I got to the checkout I could chose a free Sierra Bees organic lipbalm. You could choose from vanilla, pomegranate, mint, cocoa butter or honey so I chose vanilla. There were also a free stylus/pen and a caffeine free barley drink thing when I opened the box which was a nice little surprised!

Postage was only £4.00, however I did get a customs charge, but I think I was just unlucky as I didn't get it the last time I ordered. I also didn't really mind paying it as I had already saved a lot of money through the currency difference and postage!!

If you want to order from IHerb you can use this discount code to receive $10 off your first order of $40 or more, or choose $5 off orders totaling less than $40.

Glossybox: August 2013

Highflyers

I just recently subscribed to Glossybox and thought it would make a great monthly feature in this blog, so each month I will show you what products I got and I may review some of the products when I have had a chance to use them. If you don't know what Glossybox is, it is basically a subscription service where you pay £10.00 a month plus postage and you receive a pretty box with 5 beauty samples. What's not to love?
www.glossybox.co.uk

This month's box is based around cult/hero products from different countries so I am going to start with the UKs entry!

Jelly Pong Pong.

This was a 2-in-1 Eye Liner and Shadow duo pencil which is worth £10.50. What I loved about this was the fact that it was hard enough to be used as a liner either in the waterline or along the lashline, but also soft enough to be blended out into a shadow. I have a lot of "shadow pencils" that are great as a base but to have something that is 2-in-1 is great for my already Mary Poppins like bag!  www.jellypongpong.com

USAs entry

1-Juicy Couture

There was a little fragrance vial (63.00 for 100 ml) for this one and it smells devine! I have never really been drawn to this brand before but this is a very sweet fruity fragrance that lasts pretty long. I don't need any more perfumes (and it's pretty damn expensive!) so I won't be buying the full size but this little sample is great for popping in your bag for nights out! www.debenhams.com/beauty/juicy-couture

2-Philosophy

I was so happy to see this in my box. The Purity Made Simple cleanser (£17.50 for 240ml) is something I have been eyeing up for a while after hearing a lot of great reviews on it. This claims to be a 3-in-1 deep cleanser that removes makeup and tones the skin. I used it the night I got it to remove my makeup, I wasn't wearing much but I felt that I had to go in with my micellar water to remove the excess! Saying that I did enjoy using it, it felt lovely and I could tell the next day that it was a good product so I think I will reserve this for my day cleansing. This also came with a £5 off voucher that can be used against the full size product at any Debenhams Philosophy counter, which is great if I really like it! www.philosophyskincare.co.uk

Swedens Entry!

I was really surprised to see these Emite Make Up Eyelash Curlers, they are worth approximately  £20.00 and come with 3 rubber bases. I haven't had a chance to properly test these out but they look really good. www.emitemakeup.com

Last but not least,

Bazils entry

The Óceana Makeup Remover Pen. When I first saw this I thought "why not just use a cotton buds and makeup remover?". Then I realised that I don't know anyone that carries cotton buds and makeup remover with them on a daily basis. So this is a great little product that can be used when your mascara or eyeliner smudges! Unfortunately this isn't yet available in the UK but here's the link to the website where you can be updated! www.oceane.com.br

I hope you enjoyed this, do you get Glossybox, what did you think of this box? If not are you tempted to get one each month?

Thanks for reading! :)

Goodbye Panda Eyes

If you read my last post you'll know that I promised to review my favourite eye makeup remover. Please welcome *drum roll*  Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing Eye Make Up Remover (I think they have changed the packaging and name slightly since I bought it!)

Before I found this beauty I was using the Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Makeup Remover and as much as I loved it, it just did not get rid of my industrial strength mascara! It was great if I was wearing a non waterproof mascara and a little bit off eyeliner, it got everything off and soothed my eyes.

But for the days and nights where your eyelashes are coated in layers of mascara and your waterline is caked in black waterproof eyeliner (that's most days? Right?) this little beauty is where it's at!

Every night after I've took off my face make up I take a cotton pad, and pour some of the makeup remover on it, I then separate it (being environmentally friendly and all that!) I hold for 10 seconds, wipe away and everything comes off. I do sometimes need to go in with a cotton but to get stubborn bits! This is an amazing little product that is so cheap (£1.99) and great for people with sensitive eyes. It doesn't sting or dry out your eyes and best of all you don't wake up with black marks over your face or pillow!!

Have you tried this? If not what is your favourite eye makeup remover?

Review: L'Oréal Skin Perfection

Micellar solutions have been all the rage in beauty land, most notably Bioderma, however I don't think I'm wrong in saying it is a bugger to get hold of? (Although I did hear in the grapevine Boots would be stocking it soon?) Well, L'Oréal have saved the day with their new Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution which is available in most high street chemists and supermarkets.

http://www.boots.com/en/LOreal-Paris-Skin-Perfection-3-in-1-Purifying-Micellar-Solution-200ml_1299734/

Before I discovered this beauty I was taking my make up off with a hot cloth cleanser then washing my face with the gel cleanser I was testing at that time. This was a pain to do every night which was actually making my skin worse because the thought of having to slave over a sink for 10 minutes every night made me reach for my make up wipes in bed. I also read an article that washing your face every night and day was actually bad for your skin. Think pH balance, it has been well proven that if you wash any sensitive part of your body with soapy substances too often it can have a detrimental effect (thrush, anyone?) so you should actually wash your face at the sink just once a day. This is were Micellar solutions are God send. At night I use this on a few cotton pads and it melts everything off, I then tone and moisturise all in the comfort of my own bed whilst watching The Kardashians! It isn't very good at taking off eye make up but I have another little beauty for that! (blog post coming soon) This product has actually saved my skin, not only does it take EVERYTHING off its also really easy and lazy people friendly! It is great for sensitive skin, helps tone as well as remove make up and doesn't leave your skin feeling dry! If you have been eyeing up Bioderma or any other Micellar Solutions but haven't been sure, you should try this one out. It is so affordable, usually retailing at £4.99 but on offer a lot, it isn't going to break the bank! This 200ml bottle normally lasts me about 4 weeks which for less than a fiver, I ain't complaining! There is only one thing I don't like about this and that is the packaging. The lid is just a bit too square so trying to pour some onto your cotton pad can be a bit annoying as there can be some spillages, this aside it doesn't look to bad on my dressing table. Overall I think if the packaging was different it would be 10/10 for me!

Be gone sink, I am too tired for yo' nonsense!!
